NOPAIN Act

NOPAIN Act – officially known as the “Non-Opioids Prevent Addiction in the Nation Act (NOPAIN Act),” is a bipartisan law designed to reduce opioid use by expanding access to non-opioid pain management options, particularly for Medicare patients undergoing surgeries, by ensuring separate reimbursement for these alternative treatments in healthcare settings like ambulatory surgery centers and hospitals, thereby encouraging providers to utilize them instead of opioids for pain relief; essentially, it aims to prevent addiction by providing more diverse pain management choices for patients. Both elastomeric and electronic pumps are approved by the NOPAIN Act.
